I don't usually write reviews, but after my latest visit, I feel that this cafe would benefit from some genuinely felt feedback. The location is great and the cafe benefits from a gift shop and at this time of year, Christmas tree sales. The first problem with the cafe is that you are greeted with the phrase, 'have you booked'. The answer of course is 'no'. This is a cafe not a top London restaurant. I then watched the young member of staff study the booking register, whilst she looked back and forth at the numerous empty slots, before she came to the decision that we could be seated at one of the numerous empty tables. We were then told that there was no hot food available. It was Lunch time! We then settled for hot drinks and toasted tea cakes. The drinks were good and the tea cakes well toasted, but we received just one small cube of butter each. Hardly enough to cover half a tea cake. I then went to the counter to ask for more butter, but had to wait while the diner in front of me was trying to order, as he had got fed up waiting for sevice and gone to the counter himself. I would say that the young staff lack motivation and interest in their jobs. The table booking system is a barrier to custom and is a disincentive for customers dropping in, as we did today. This cafe needs to up its game with good service and quality food.

Very much agree with the previous review. The member of staff serving us was distinctly unwelcoming and unhelpful, and just did not know how to treat paying customers nicely. Especially given the relatively high prices charged for the area, some staff training would make a huge difference; this could be a really lovely spot!

Lovely atmosphere, really good selection of Christmas decorations. Definitely worth a visit.

Based on the quality, variety and size of the cakes alone: Perfect. Efficient service even with a long line of cyclists, each ordering and paying separately. Plenty of seating inside and outside. And the setting is picturesque and peaceful.

Disappointing today. We come 5-6 times a year, but staff were snooty; milkshake watery; and despite the specials board having lunch on it, and being given the lunch menu, we were made to feel like it was our fault we were trying to order lunch and it wasn't available. We left with takeaway, and having to go somewhere else.

Lovely, relaxing place for an informal snack lunch. Good choice of hot or cold food and a superb selection of cakes. The ice cream flavours are almost to die for. I had chocolate brownie flavour that was divine. Must return and try some more flavours. Reasonable prices and plenty of free parking plus a well stocked, upmarket gift shop attached.

Wasps!! Lovely place, and you can sit outside with your dog, and the WASPS! It was pleasant to sit outside until our food and drink and WASPS arrived... must have been under attack by at least 30 of them. Had wondered why no one else was sitting outside on such a lovely day when we arrived. Might come back in the winter when the wasps have been killed by frost.

What a litte gem! Good choice of food, drinks and ice cream. The food was delicious too! Super friendly staff and a lovely place to spend an hour or so. Even have picnic blankets to use if you want to sit in the grass area!

A favourite place. Great service, food (including homemade cakes), tea and coffee year round. We love the artisan ice cream (available flavours are always changing) and milk shakes in the summer. Indoor and outdoor seating available in this peaceful rural idyll.

Lovely little café just north of Bicester on the edge of a quiet village. We'll sign posted. Small but tasty menu with gluten free options, including lush looking cakes. Freindly service with a nice shop, plus there's outside seating too.
